Our Wool Take Back Programme has officially come full circle, and as a result the blankets that you helped to create are available to purchase. It all started with you. By bringing in your old knitwear, you kept it out of landfill and gave it a second chance. Not bad for something that was just taking up space, right?
From there, our mates at Woolyarns took over. They turned the old knitwear back into yarn, giving it new purpose. Then, Inter-Weave got to work, re-spinning that yarn into a locally made New Zealand woollen blanket.
And now here they are. Back on the shelves at Barkers, ready to take home or throw in the back of your car for when the next adventure strikes. They’re not just blankets – they’re a result of a solid effort, crafted right here in New Zealand, using what was once old wool that was saved from being wasted.
